Do You Need a Second Photographer?

Do I need a second photographer at my wedding? This question is one that I am asked frequently, and my response is always: it depends.

I recommend a second photographer for couples with the following scenarios: they want getting ready photos of both bride and groom at separate locations, they want a second perspective/angle of their day, they are planning on having large wedding parties and/or guest count, and/or their timeline requires that one photographer be taking photos of family or guests at the same time as another photographer taking photos of decor and details.

Below are comparisons between the lead and second photographer’s photos, taken at the same time. The first photo in each side-by-side comparison is the lead photographer’s photo, and will be the only perspective/angle in the gallery if one photographer is hired. The second photo is the second photographer’s photo, and will be an addition to the gallery if a second photographer is hired.

A visual perspective is always helpful when deciding if a second photographer is right for your wedding. But if you still have questions, please feel free to contact me!
