Do I need a second photographer at my wedding? This question is one that I am asked frequently, and my response is always: while a second photographer may not always be absolutely required, I will in most cases highly recommend one.
I recommend a second photographer for couples with the following scenarios: they want getting ready photos of both bride and groom, they want a second perspective/angle of their day, they want candids of guest reactions and small moments that happen “behind the scenes,” and/or their timeline requires that one photographer be taking photos of family or guests at the same time as another photographer taking photos of decor and details. Also to be considered is the practicality of having a second photographer on site if anything should happen to the lead photographer.

The first photo in each side-by-side comparison is the lead photographer’s photo, and will be the only perspective/angle in the gallery if one photographer is hired. The second photo is the second photographer’s photo, and will be an addition to the gallery if there is a second photographer.
