Jessica and Derek are not photogenic. At least, that’s what they told me when we met. As a photographer, I hear that quite often. When people say they aren’t photogenic, what they really mean is that they feel awkward in front of the camera. They don’t know how to stand or where to put their hands, and they aren’t sure if what they are doing looks right. That’s where I come in. My job is to direct couples into natural poses and to encourage them when they are absolutely doing it right. When they realize that all they have to think about is how much they love each other, then everything comes together to create gorgeous, natural, and very photogenic images.
