Sarah and Christian were married on a beautiful winter day in downtown St. Louis at Slate. All of the women in Sarah’s family got married wearing her grandmother’s necklace, so of course she chose to include the heirloom as part of her day. I love that she also donned her grandmother’s antique fur shawl for photos.
For those of you wondering if a first look will spoil the aisle-walk moment of your ceremony, look no further than Christian as an example. He was emotional when he saw his beautiful bride during their first look, and again when she walked down the aisle towards him. Their ceremony was a sweet mix of both traditional and personal, heart-felt vows. When the priest pronounced them as husband and wife, there was no mistaking the joy that flowed from them and the family and friends that had gathered around them.
Sarah and Christian chose to keep things simple with no wedding party, and instead seated their family members with them around their reception head table at Willow. There was no end of teasing and laughter from the friends who toasted their new marriage, and their first dance was a beautifully choreographed routine that showed just how much fun they have together.
Thank you, Sarah and Christian, for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. I very much enjoyed celebrating with you, and wish you much joy in your life together!
