Winter Wonderland Wedding Inspiration – Part 1

Winter has never been my jam.  I was born in the summer and my happy place is anywhere that’s warm.  I lived in Michigan as a child, where I saw my fair share of cold weather and snow.  In fact, I have often joked that I have had enough snow to last a lifetime….

And then the snow redeems itself and gives you a chance to create pure magic.

Snow is cold and difficult to drive in and can wreak havoc on traffic.  But there are few things that compare to the pure beauty of fresh-fallen snow.  So when the forecast called for a winter storm, I jumped at the chance to photograph this gorgeous editorial at Lost Hill Lake.  Of course, Missouri weather is notoriously fickle, so it would take a stroke of luck to predict exactly when the storm would begin.  There was not a flake in sight when we arrived, but within 20 minutes, the ground was completely blanketed in white.  The timing could not have been more perfect…Pure magic.

Part 1 of this winter wonderland editorial is a bridal session with the lovely Kaitlyn, wearing an exclusive gown by UKEX and provided by Margo’s A Wedding PlaceAshley Boren provided hair and makeup, and Sister Chicks Flowers created her pretty winter-themed bouquet.
